Read more about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erosivetoothwear.com\/de\/the-structure-of-my-teeth-2\/\">structure of your teeth<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Dentin is similar to enamel but has tubes inside it running from the surface down to the pulp<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These tubes contain a small amount of fluid that is usually still when the dentin is covered by enamel, gum or bone<\/li>\n<li>If the tubes are exposed, the fluid can be moved by things such as cold (drinks, air), heat (food, drinks), pressure changes (tooth brushing, talking) and chemical changes (food, drinks)<\/li>\n<li>This movement is picked up by the nerve endings in the pulp that transmit a pain signal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Toothpastes may contain specific anti-sensitivity ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some work by blocking the pain signal &#8211; Potassium nitrate, potassium citrate, potassium chloride<\/li>\n<li>Some work by physically covering the top of the dentin tubules &#8211; Strontium chloride, stannous fluoride, calcium sodium phosphosilicate (CSPS), arginine + calcium carbonate + sodium monofluorophosphate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.erosivetoothwear.com\/app\/uploads\/2018\/06\/shutterstock_609960887-e1529068020483.jpg\" alt=\"Test\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"838\" width=\"747\" title=\"shutterstock_609960887\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading='lazy' \/>\n\t<p><em>West N, Seong J, Davis M.
